Jo Cartmell
Wildlife photographer, amateur ecologist and wildlife conservationist.
Her passion for British wildlife began in early childhood. Her special interests are water voles and wildflower meadows. Jo contributed to Spring, Summer and Autumn: An Anthology for the Changing Seasons series edited by Melissa Harrison and published by Elliott & Thompson with The Wildlife Trusts. She has had articles published in the Ecologist.
She started @WaterVole on Twitter in 2009 and @NearbyWild in 2015.
Stephen de Vere
Wildlife cameraman with credits in RSPB and BBC documentaries like Life in the Freezer, Andes to Amazon, Yellowstone and Frozen Planet.
He self-publishes his own films about British wildlife – some of which can be watched free on his Youtube channel.
He implemented and helps run the NearbyWild website.
John Aitchison
John Aitchison is a wildlife filmmaker who works with the BBC, National Geographic, PBS and Discovery Channel on series including The Hunt, Frozen Planet, Life Stories, Life, Big Cat Diary, Springwatch and Yellowstone.
He is the author of the book The Shark and the Albatross, published October 2015 in the UK.

Ginny Battson
Ginny is a professional nature and landscape photographer with a lifelong love of wildlife, especially that of woodlands and watery habitats. Her passions include environmental ethics, ecoliteracy and being a mother. She enjoys walking, wading, observing and writing her blog Seasonalight.
She has recently contributed to the book series Seasons to be published in 2016 by Elliott & Thompson in conjunction with The Wildlife Trusts.
She has lived in the United States & New Zealand before returning to live in Wales. You may also find her @ginbat & @seasonalight on Twitter, if she’s not wandering Welsh rivers and coasts.

Miles King
Miles is chief executive of charity People Need Nature, which promotes the value and need for nature in people’s lives. He has worked in nature conservation for 30 years, variously leading the conservation work at Plantlife, The Grasslands Trust and Buglife, working as a consultant and for English Nature/Natural England.
Miles has written many reports during his career and is the co-author of Arable Plants: a field guide and The Nature of God’s Acre. He writes a regular blog and can sometimes be found on Twitter @milesking10.
He lives with his family, one cat and four chickens in Dorset.

Mary Colwell
Mary Colwell is a producer and writer specialising in nature and the environment. She was voted number 27 in the most influential conservationists in the UK by BBC Wildlife Magazine.
Mary has worked with the Catholic Church and the environment, both nationally and internationally. In April/May 2016 she walked 500 miles for curlew conservation and is now writing the book. Her book John Muir : The Scotsman Who Saved America’s Wild Places was published in 2014.

Sarah Watkinson

She lives in West Oxfordshire and is proud that Bladon C of E Primary School’s wildlife reserve, which she has managed without biocides for 20 years, now harbours over 70 wild plant species.
Simon Leadbeater
Simon has a background in local government and the third sector where he held director and CEO-level roles. He has published in a number of areas ranging from third sector governance to rewilding, and has most recently published in ECOS (https://www.ecos.org.uk) and the Royal Forestry Society’s Quarterly Journal of Forestry. He and his wife bought Rector’s Wood in 1999 and have lived there since 2015.
